Tim Otteman offers a variety of presentations to assist you in the education of your students, faculty, and staff about the nuances of sports gambling. Tim has two hallmark presentations - BETTOR EDUCATION: Blowing the Whistle on Illegal Sports Gambling and BRACKET BUSTED! Sports Gambling and College Athletics. The BETTOR EDUCATION presentation has been created for the general college student population, while BRACKET BUSTED is steered specifically toward college student-athletes. STUDENT AFFAIRS PROFESSIONALS:

Tim has designed this 90 minute to two hour session for professional student affairs departments, such as student life personnel, residence hall staff, student life personnel and residence life staff. This presentation is an actual training seminar regarding gambling prevalence in the United States, how and why individuals become involved, where students participate on college campuses, and sports gambling warning signs. Additional features of this tutorial include a packet of resource materials for each attendee, state-specific laws, campus-specific-policies, and intervention protocols specific to your institution. After the seminar, you will receive an Evaluation Summary Sheet regarding the pre- and post-knowledge sports gambling knowledge of all attendees. This type of presentation can be tailored to both the K-12 or collegiate level.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS:

Tim created this 90 minute to two hour session for athletic department personnel, such as coaches, staff and administrators. This presentation is an actual training seminar including how sports figures are enticed into involvement with sports gambling, gambling prevalence in the United States, historical perspectives of past gambling scandals, academic studies involving student/athletes, and gambling warning signs. Additional features of this tutorial include a packet of resource materials for each attendee including state laws and NCAA policies. This presentation can be tailored to both interscholastic and intercollegiate athletic departments.

ATHLETIC TRAINERS: This 90 minute presentation is an interactive examination of how athletic trainers are involved in sports gambling. This lecture is aimed at athletic trainers at the high school, college and professional level and also highlights legal and illegal gambling statistics, governing body regulations, gambling warning signs and real-life scenarios that happen with athletic trainers.
